About

Tempered first,
then shipped

TemperForge is a studio building apps that take over the calculations and checks you repeat every day, and games that are short to play and long to remember.

What we do

We only build in the direction that saves people time

Plenty of everyday questions still need a table and a calculator before they give up an answer. Why the electricity bill came out that high, when your pension starts and how much it pays, whether there is support you could claim — the answers are public, but getting them out costs time. We build the things that spend that time for you.

Games run on a different axis. Something that ends in thirty seconds to a few minutes and still makes you want to open it again, plus one world we intend to finish however long it takes. Different in character, same test — was the player's time worth it?

How we build

We do not push on instinct; we hold to a procedure

We are a small team, so keeping to the order is the only way we can keep the quality.

Measure before starting

We check first whether there is demand and whether someone already does it well. We do not build and then look for a use. We write down which axes we can win on and which we cannot before we begin.

Gather references first

Before building a screen we find the best real examples in that field, capture them and measure them as numbers. Start without references and the result is the average of the maker's own taste.

Measure the screen we built

We capture the finished screen and check contrast range, effective colour count and legibility when shrunk. We fix only what falls short, then measure again. We re-shoot before we write down that it is fixed.

Leave a verification report before shipping

For every deliverable we write what was built, how it was checked, and what is still open. Working and worth shipping are two different things.

Ads only where they do not get in the way

No ad goes where it blocks what you are doing. For anyone who would rather not see them, one payment removes them.

We write down what we do not know

We do not fill an unverified number with something plausible. We do not describe something unreleased as released. If a field on this site is blank, it means it has not been decided yet.

Where we stand

As it actually is

There is no reason to inflate it. This is where we are.

Zero store listings

Organisation verification for the developer account is still in progress. Until it clears, nothing can go on a store. Each release will be added to the products page as it lands.

Web services awaiting release

Two calculators are finished and only need the domain connected. Once it is, they open right under this domain.

Contact channel being set up

We are setting up an address for enquiries. We will not put a fake one here in the meantime — you can check the status on the contact page.

The name

TemperForge — the forge that tempers

It joins temper (to harden by heating and cooling) with forge (a smithy, and to beat into shape). Heat it, hammer it, cool it until it holds — that is how we build.

Where it is usedWritten form
Korean name템퍼포지
Latin nameTemperForge — only T and F capitalised, written as one word, no space or hyphen
Site display nameTemperForge Studio

Never Temperforge · TEMPERFORGE · Temper Forge. This name gets copied onward into contracts, invoices and store registrations, so the written form has to be fixed to exactly one.
